Cocktails & Conversation | Remain In Love: Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, Tina. Chris Frantz in conversation with Robert S. Williams | Punk is Coming

May 26, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

As part of our Cocktails & Conversation series supporting Punk is Coming, join us for an evening with Chris Frantz in conversation with Westport author, filmmaker and musician Robert S. Williams on Thursday, May 26 at 6 PM.

The Talking Heads, one of the most dynamic groups of the ‘70s and ‘80s, was founded by drummer Chris Frantz, his wife Tina Weymouth, and lead singer David Byrne. The band was integral to the music scene of the time, playing at CBGBs, touring Europe with the Ramones, and creating hits like “Psycho Killer” and “Burning Down the House.”

Frantz and Weymouth together also formed the funky spin-off group, the Tom Tom Club.

His 2020 memoir, Remain in Love: Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, Tina shares his experiences in the music scene.

Robert Steven Williams produced the CBGB Comic Book series (nominated for a Harvey). He also saved parts of the bar which were rotting in a Connecticut storage container, placing several pieces in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame including the awning and urinals. Robert directed the documentary Gatsby in Connecticut featuring Sam Waterston.

The event is free, but advance registration is requested.

The presentation begins promptly at 6 PM, so come early to experience the exhibition and purchase a drink or cocktail!
