Kaleidoscope: A Journey of Creativity, Self-Expression & Unity
MoCA Westport is proud to announce its MoCA Gives Back Healing Arts Exhibition, Kaleidoscope: A Journey of Creativity, Self-Expression & Unity on August 27th from 12 – 4 PM, curated by MoCA Gives Back Healing Art Instructor Lewis Derogene. This special exhibition will showcase artwork created by participants who have found inspiration, joy, and a deeper connection to the world around them through the healing power of art. The MoCA Gives Back initiative embodies the core belief of MoCA Westport: arts for all. We are dedicated to recognizing and meeting the diverse needs of our community through partnerships, high-quality programming, and outreach to under-resourced populations.
The MoCA Gives Back Healing Arts Exhibition is a celebration of our commitment to providing meaningful programs and a broad range of opportunities for all members of our local community. This initiative is an extension of our mission to build a deeper understanding and passion for the arts by presenting thought-provoking and relevant arts experiences. MoCA Gives Back is our promise to make MoCA Westport’s visual, performing, and educational arts programs accessible to everyone.
Through the MoCA Gives Back initiative, MoCA Westport has been able to offer equitable access and meaningful experiences, including employment, to those who are under-resourced in our community. With the generous support of our volunteers and donors, MoCA Gives Back has partnered with organizations to provide healing arts classes and employment for adults with disabilities, scholarships for summer camp and educational opportunities for those experiencing financial need, and regularly scheduled healing arts classes for high school students. We have also collaborated with professional artists to bring events to under-resourced schools.
Since the inception of MoCA Gives Back, we have been able to offer a variety of healing arts activities, thanks to the support of our community. We have fostered ongoing relationships with organizations such as Employment for Everyone (E4E), The Norwalk Next Steps Program, Side by Side Charter School, STAR, Inc., Westport Connections, and Club 203.
We invite you to join us in supporting the MoCA Gives Back initiative by donating, volunteering, and/or joining our MoCA Gives Back Committee. Your contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve. For more information on how to get involved, please visit our website or contact us at mocagivesback@mocawestport.org.
