About the Artist
Jana Ireijo was born in Honolulu, HI in 1968, and currently lives and works in Westport, CT. Growing up in the crossroads between the East and West, her adolescent life was shaped as much by Hello Kitty and Japanese anime, as well as MTV and surf culture. She moved to NYC to obtain an MFA in Painting from the Pratt Institute in 1999. Jana is currently working on a series of “vanishing” murals that addresses the effects of the environment due to climate change, and has exhibited her work across the United States, Germany, and Australia. She is a member of the Artist Collective of Westport and the Silvermine Artists Guild.
