The Westport Arts Center is excited to welcome Noah Steinman as its new Education Assistant for the 2016 – 2017 season. In this role, Noah will serve as the lead instructor for the Arts Center’s 2016 Summer Camps and ongoing youth education classes.

Steinman is a native of Westport, CT and is a graduate of Staples High School.  He graduated from Oberlin College in 2013 with degrees in Studio Art and Art History, and received his Masters in Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2016.

Steinman has been teaching and tutoring young artists for nearly eight years.  His experience includes the development of education programs with The Greenwich Art Council and teaching at Norwalk Community College.

“I love working with young aspiring students – they don’t have strong preconceptions about art and it’s so rewarding to see them experiment and gain confidence,” said Steinman. “I hope to make the Arts Center classroom a fun, interactive and creative space, with a focus on developing new skills,” he added.

Westport Arts Center Director of Education, Lindsay Heffernan, stated, “Our summer campers are going to love working with Noah.  His brings a high level of enthusiasm, creativity and expertise to the classroom.”

The Westport Arts Center offers ten one-week sessions of fine arts camps for ages 5-12.  All camps feature brand new, mixed media art projects that invite creativity and experimentation while building technical skill.  The Arts Center has brought back previous camp favorites, including LEGO® Design, and is introducing new relevant themes including its nature-focused Sticks & Stones camp and a graphic- and merchandise-design focused Dynamic Designers.

Summer camp at the Westport Arts Center is designed to provide flexibility and timing options. Partial week and single day (space permitting, beginning 72 hours before a given camp) opportunities are available, as well as an extended afternoon experience.

Each week of Westport Arts Center camp is $310 for non-members/$295 for members for morning sessions (ages 5 – 8) and $210 for non-members/$195 for members for afternoon sessions (ages 8 – 12).  A short week is available the week of July 4th.
