The Westport Arts Center today announced the appointment of Cathy L. Bromberg as the new Director of Development for the organization. Bromberg will be responsible for leading all development activities for the Arts Center, including fundraising, event coordination and grant management.
“We are thrilled to have an experienced, successful development professional join our team at the Arts Center,” stated William Felton, Chairman of the Westport Arts Center Board of Directors. “Cathy will be a tremendous asset in continuing to expand our already strong donor and membership base,” he added.
Bromberg brings more than ten years of fundraising and strategic planning experience to the role. She most recently served as the Director of Development for Stamford’s Palace Theater, where she created and implemented a strategic development plan that increased contributed revenue by 43% over the previous year, and managed the organization’s annual fundraiser.
Prior to the Palace Theater, she was the Director of Development for the Norwalk Community College Foundation. In this role, she designed and executed donor-centric special events, grew annual fund revenues by 26%, and developed customized stewardship plans to retain existing donors with an emphasis on major capital campaign contributors.
Bromberg also spent nine years on the Board of Directors for the New Canaan Chapter of the American Red Cross. She worked closely with the Chapter’s Director of Development in staging the organization’s annual gala and other fundraising events. She has served on the Board of Directors of Pura Vida for Children, Inc. and is currently on the Women’s Ministry Team at Grace Community Church in New Canaan.
“I am excited to join this stellar organization known for enriching the lives of residents of the greater Westport area through the visual and performing arts. The Westport Arts Center already has such deep roots in this community and I look forward to meeting current supporters and building new relationships,” said Bromberg.
Bromberg, originally from Houston, TX, holds a B.A. from Baylor University and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. A corporate attorney admitted to practice in both Connecticut and New York, she studied constitutional law under Antonin Scalia before his appointment to the Supreme Court of the United States.
An avid New York Giants fan, Bromberg enjoys football and spending time with her husband, Marc, her four children, and her Golden Retriever, Reggie.
The Westport Arts Center will hold its annual gala on May 7, 2016. The event will celebrate the unique and diverse culture of Cuba with a “Club Havana” theme, immersing guests in the island country’s rich and expressive arts heritage, its food and drinks, and its entertainment. The not-to-be-missed event will include a live auction, music by the Jay Prince Band, and the announcement of the “Club Havana” $10,000 grand prize raffle winner.
